Mrs Wippy Bath Ballistic

Perhaps one of my favourite new lush products, the Mrs Wippy bath ballistic...
I absolutely loved this! I usually avoid the bath ballistics and head straight for the bubble bars, but i'd heard that the new ones were quite bubbly and worth a try. So after having a little browse, i decided that this was my favourite scented product out of all the new items, and i quickly purchased one (the last one in the shop!). It is based on a "strawberry ice cream" and smells really gorgeous, vanilla and strawberry esque.
Lush say that it is made with soya milk powder which softens the water, making it milky and softening your skin.
Unlike the original bath ballistics, this one really "fluffed" up and was lovely and bubbly, it actually resembled ice cream as it fizzed away in the water.
I didn't stop talking about how nice it was, so much so that my lovely friend actually bought me another one when she went to try one out for herself. So i now have another wippy bath to look forward to :)
Have you tried any of the new bath ballistics? What did you think?

Retro Lush "Playdoze" & "Pleasure Dough" Bubble Bars

Evening girls!
Let me start by saying i'm sorry i've been a bit rubbish with my blog recently & not really done anything new/exciting! I'm just so busy with other things at the moment, unfortunately my blog is low down in my list of priorities! I will be back to it soon, i hope, because call me sad but i actually kind of miss it! I find it relaxing, maybe even a bit therapeutic!
However, in complete contradiction to the above, i have some free time tonight to get up to date with my lush reviews, and i might do a couple of other posts if time lets me! (must remember to check my lottery ticket - fingers crossed it's a rollover! & watch desperate housewives!)
Unfortunately neither of the following reviews are particularly positive, disappointing seeing as i spent some more dollar dollar on a retro lush order (have become completely obsessed/practically ocd about ticking every retro bubble bar off the list as used and reviewed -perhaps unfortunately for you!)
So the first one is this oddly shaped, fluorescent yellow coloured log! This is called "Playdoze" and here is what Lush say about it:
"A fluorescent bar of bubbles. There were rumours that a Playdoze bath made kids glow in the dark. We were rather disappointed to find that it isnt true. It certainly makes the bath water glow and this serves as a tantalising attraction to grubby persons of younger years. There were also reports that its phenomenal combination of soothing lavender and ylang ylang essential oils got kids to sleep where all else failed. These all turned out to be true."
Fluorescent, check! Glow in the dark, fail! Yellow bath water, check! Perhaps the fact i am not a child is where it all went wrong for me, but i just did not find this enjoyable! First of all, however superficial, it bothers me how a bubble bar looks! I like it to be aesthetically pleasing, exciting! Like melomint was. Playdoze does look a bit like play-dough i suppose, i will give them that, but it just reminds me of one of those horrible slippy glittery willy shaped things that kids used to play with. God i hope people know what i'm talking about and don't just think im bonkers?!
I'm not sure if this ruined the rest of the bath for me, but i was just completely unimpressed by the smell, feel, colour, everything. Rubbish really. Don't recommend this one, unless you are a child? Then maybe you could let me know if it's good fun and makes you sleepy!

...Next please!
After this unfortunate bath experience i used the "Pleasure dough" bubble bar.
What Lush say:
"Wake late, take breakfast in bed, then rise at noon for a Pleasure Dough bath, scented with the blend of herbs and flowers adored by the 17th Century French courtesan, Ninon de Lenclos, who lived an exciting life to the age of 90, sharing her secrets with a select band of proteges. She used her favourite, personal perfume of lavender, rose, peppermint and orange blossom to seduce her lovers, including two marquises, the Cond, the Duc de Larochefoucauld and the odd abb or two. She was noted for her style, taste and politeness and other 'talents', so we're quite certain that she'll be delighted with this Bubble Bar."
Again, i wasn't very excited about this bubble bar, as i think it looks more like the stuffing you have with your christmas lunch, than something i want to lie in. It smelt very herby, a little too herby for my liking! I'm more of a creamy, fruity girl than the herbal kind! HOWEVER, unlike with playdoze, i wasn't completely dissatisfied with this bubble bar. Once it was in the bath i actually really liked the smell, i found it really calming and had a lovely relaxing bath. Unfortunately this was totally spoilt by the tonne of floating herbs that joined me.
I find things like this a bit yucky. It made the water look really dirty, like i had got in covered in leaves and half of my garden. A little bit of a shame, because i do think that it would have been lovely without this. I may give it another go and find somewhere of removing the floaters! Perhaps filter the bubble bar through something as i crumbled it in.
If you like herbs, this is perfect. If you don't, steer clear!
Who would have though one girl would have so much to say about a bath, i do apologise!

Retro Lush "Melomint" Bubble Bar

Retro lush bubble bar review numberrrr..i don't even know i've lost count, i hope it's not getting too boring! Constant nice lush baths certainly aren't, but i'm getting a bit lazy doing this part, hehe. I feel like i have to finish going through all of them now that i've said i was going to. I actually used this bubble bar over a week a go now and haven't blogged about it until now. It's such a nice one though!
Lush say, "Looks like a chunk of watermelon, smells like a stick of Blackpool Rock. It makes peppermint bubbles to wake you up and unclog your mental blockages. Give yourself a good loofah scrub in a Melominty bath and it'll give your whole body the same feeling your mouth gets when you brush your teeth. Have a stimulating Melomint revival in your morning bath."
Trueeeeee. I love the way that this bubble bar looks! The whole idea of this one excited me lots. The spearmint smell was quite overpowering when i first opened the package, so much so that all the other products in the order smelt of it until i used them. I wasn't sure how a much i would like a minty bath, but the smell was much more reserved once it was in the water and bubbling up!
My bath quickly filled up with watermelon seeds (bit of a pain) and turned a gorgeous creamy pink with a few little splatters of green through some of the bubbles! This bubble bar left my skin lovely and soft and luckily didn't leave a spearmint scent on me! I will be purchasing this again :)
Have you tried this one? Do you think you will?
Hope everyone's ok xxx

Retro Lush "Marzibain" Bubble Bar

Hello girls, hope everyone is ok & having a good week so far! I did actually use this bubble bar about a week ago now, but haven't had a chance to blog about it & i'm not feeling very enthusiastic right now either, my head hurts!
"It's a sweet cake that smells just like marzipan; whole almonds with a hint of rose and cassie absolutes make it smell like tasty almond icing." - This is what LUSH say, true story!
This bubble bar was one of the ones i was most excited about ordering when i look on the website because i really like almondy things usually! I think it is quite an acquired taste/smell? Not that many people seem to like it, and if you do you love it? I may be wrong! Anyway, i love marzipan (especially covered in chocolate) so thought that bubble form marzipan was a must have! I couldn't actually tell whether i liked it or not at first thanks to "melomint" being in the same order box and making it smell minty! When i crumbled it open though it was there, all almondy! I did really like the smell, but it wasn't my favourite/as nice as i wanted it to be. Don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining, it was nice honest!
In the bath was particularly creamy, nice white bubbles & a nice creamy soapy layer on the water, which i like. Like a lot of the bubble bars, marzibain didn't leave the scent on my skin after the bath, but it did leave it feeling really soft! More so than any of the other retro bars that i have tried/reviewed!
Overall, another gorgeous bubble bar from the retro range, i liked it lots & would order it again, you should too!

Retro Lush "It's A Date" Bubble Bar

Next up on my retro lush review list is the "it's a date" bubble bar, and it's a gooden! I received this in a different order to "happy", but unfortunately had a similar problem in that it was a bit too hard to crumble! I have since found out from the lovely Abby & her lush crush, that this happens if the bubble bar is old, so maybe something to watch out for with the retro lush items, they seem to be kept a bit longer than they are meant to be before being sent out to us! Not cool. Anyway, this bubble bar smelt absolutely amazing, and the colour of it was gorgeous too (although it doesn't look as bright as it was in these poorly taken, in my bedroom at night, pictures..). It has an actual date on the top of it, which i didn't want floating in my bath, and so i removed it before the crumbling commenced! As you can see in the third picture, i had trouble breaking it and had to hold in under the tap for a while to soften it, which resulted in my hands being pink and gooey, but smelling amazing for the rest of the night!
Whilst running my bath i realised that it smelt like something from my past, but had that frustrating mind block where you are certain that you recognise it and can remember the smell so clearly but just cannot think what it was or where you smelt it! After picking my brain, and talking to my lovely Alexandra about it, i got there, it smells like GLITTER BABES! Do you remember glitter babes? It was a range in Boots when i was in primary school or something! Anyway, the smell reminds me of that, its a gorgeous fruity and kind of powdery smell! Smells a little bit like "blush" candle by Lily Flame which is one of my favourites! Beyond the smell, look how amazing the colour of the water was, it was an amazing bright barbie pink, the picture was taken just as it started running, it ended up with lots of soft creamy bubbles. Heaven! I recommend this bubble bar to anybody who hasn't tried it, and it's one of the cheaper ones from the retro range, only £2.85.
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, i'm off to have another bath..marzibain!

When you break up with someone you love, where does the love go?

Carrie Bradshaw's a doll with all these wise old quotes she comes out with.
But for real, my heads a bit messy today. Messy sad & also messy headachey from last night.

I went out for cocktails with my friend & some people from work, hilariousss time & even more hilarious photos taken on photobooth before we went out..I actually think that they are too grotesque to share with you, however funny they are to me. Shame really, i bet you're gutted ;) So the night consisted of having drinks bought for us by someone who i work with, laughing at laughs, talking about cramp, trying to undertake girly talk around boys, meeting two boys from Bolton & chatting to them outside Amber Lounge for about half an hour (they were also hilair), and then being accidently racist. What a let down. A guy said "excuse me girls, wheres good for indian food round here?" i replied with "I DON'T LIKE INDIANS SO I CAN'T REALLY HELP" , obviously i meant Indians as in i'm going for "an indian" as in indian cuisine.
I was not making a ridiculously overgeneralized statement about the entire population of India. Unfortunately he didn't see it like that. So my friend tried to diffuse this by shouting out "I LOVE INDIANS!", ahh funny.

OH MY GOD, also i wore the best best best new shoes last night. Oh ok, that is all about the shoes - they're amazing, talk about anti-climax, sorry about that.

Anyway. I used some of my goodie bag things i got from lush on thursday; i've used the blackberry bath ballistic, some angel's delight soap & the big blue bath ballistic. To be honest, i thought the blackberry one was really boring & the smell was nice but it didn't really last. Loving the soap (but smells like something you could eat, so having to hold back..) & the big blue one was really nice as well, the amount of seaweed in it shocked me a bit, it just kept on coming! It did make my skin feel nice though, so that's a plus.

Also really loving Taylor's raspberry & vanilla tea again. I drank this all the time in the summer while i was working for my A-levels but haven't had any since, until today. I forgot how nice it is! Really strange how a taste/smell can make you remember things you had forgotten from the time you last tasted/smelt it though, don't you think?

I'm really tired & cranky tonight (hence the lacking of this post) so i'm not going to write anymore, i'm going to do a little more work, or try to & then watch some sex & the city and have an early night.

Spend spend spend; Lush & Mac
- lots of pictures!
I drove my friend to hand her essay in at university in Liverpool; so obviously that meant that we had to go shopping while we were there. I'm pretty chirpy about my purchases, so here is what i came home with! My lush obsession has been kick started by some christmas presents from miss Alexandra!
Ok, so from LUSH, i bought 2 gift boxes; Buttercup (contains butterball bath ballistic & Honey i washed the kids soap) & Rock Chick (contains rock star soap & creamy candy bath bubble bar slice) - these are actually going to be used as gifts, got a couple of birthdays coming up in the next couple of weeks!
Then, for myself, i bought some i should coco soap,
a pop in the bath bubble bar,

& a butterball bath ballistic.
Then, in my goodie bag (can't tell you how excited i was) i got..
a big blue bath ballistic,
some angel's delight soap (smells amazing!),
a jacko bath ballistic (kind of late but cute all the same),
a floating island bath melt,
a massive wedge of father frost soap,
& finally a blackberry bath bomb. I can't quite believe how good this deal is!
So then, after some lunch, we went to MAC & although i didn't actually have my voucher i was blabbing on about the other day, i bought some lipstick.
I went for a matte pink shade called "please me" and i'm very happy with it, it's really lovely.
All in all, it's been a pretty successful day! My new Barry M nail paints also arrived this morning, i got "pale purple" & "mulberry pink", i'm wearing the pink today and haven't tried the purple on yet but both look gorgeous so far! I'm actually pretty tired after the drive & then walking up hills to and from lecture buildings! So it's time for a cup of tea & i still have this essay to finish.
So that's my evening sorted, with a nice bath using one of my new LUSH products obviously! Oh, but which one? I haven't actually tried any of the ones i got today, i'm not quite a LUSH virgin, but i'm really not very experienced. I'm sure i will be soon, because after this lot i know that i'm not going to be able to keep myself away, i pretty much love everything in there! If you have any pointers about what i should get next time then you should really let me know, because i'm like a kid in a candy shop when i get in there!

Anyway, Ciao Ciao!
