Perfect: Overpaid, Unionized Federal Workers Join #OWS Movement
...at least four federal labor unions rallied in support of the Occupy movement in a Lafayette Square demonstration Thursday... On the day that a House committee approved legislation that would cut the federal workforce by 10 percent and during a time when federal employees are in a battle to protect their pay, benefits and jobs, federal union members gathered with other labor organizations to back the national Occupy movement’s call for economic justice.
...“Most federal employees consider themselves to be part of the 99 percent,” Saul Schniderman, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Library of Congress Guild, said after the rally. “And many of us believe in the principles of social justice, just like the protesters in Occupy D.C. Everyone needs to pay their fair share, and this includes Wall Street corporations with their record profits and their CEOs with their skyrocketing salaries. I rallied today with other federal workers and unions to protest the influence that today’s modern-day robber barons have on our economy.”
...AFSCME, whose Council 26 represents federal workers, has contributed rain tarps and more than 100 rain ponchos to Occupy D.C. campers in McPherson Square, said Carl Goldman, executive director of the council. IFPTE donated umbrellas on a rainy day last week when Junemann and his legislative director, Matthew Biggs, visited the McPherson occupiers...
...“We’re part of what they are fighting for,” said Lane Bodner, a staff member of the American Postal Workers Union. “We’re not trying to impose our agenda on them, but we do think they overlap.”
These leftist hacks are the poster-children for union abuse of taxpayers.
Consider: without even counting Solyndra, there are at least 100 criminal investigations Of Obama Stimulus Spending, according to the Department of Energy's Inspector General.
But I guess we're not paying enough in taxes. So we'll have to pony up 10% more, because we're deadbeats. The public sector unions deserve even more of our money. Our families don't need it as much as the unions do.
So give 'til it hurts.

Exclusive First Look: New Democrat Ad Sells the Obama Jobs Bill

Another classic from James Taranto
If you don't laugh out loud at this New York Post report, you have no heart:
Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops--and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.
"Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment," said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.
"I had my Mac stolen--that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!"
Oh heavens no! Krugman's Army has been infiltrated by people who don't believe in property rights!
Or, to paraphrase Ed Driscoll: "Wealth Redistributors Freak When Their Wealth Redistributed!"
Just Two More of the Filthy One Percent
Five separate studies by liberal economists reveal that "income inequality is a myth."
In fact, no less a leftist icon than Jason Furman -- deputy director of President Obama's National Economic Council -- wrote in 2006 that every segment of American society has become wealthier since the Reagan revolution.
Remember when even upper-middle class families worried about staying on a long distance call for too long? When flying was an expensive luxury? When only a minority of the population had central air conditioning, dishwashers, and color televisions? When no one had DVD players, iPods, or digital cameras? And when most Americans owned a car that broke down frequently, guzzled fuel, spewed foul smelling pollution, and didn’t have any of the now virtually standard items like air conditioning or tape/CD players?
Free enterprise, the market system and -- dare I say it -- capitalism -- have created the most magnificent society ever seen on the face of the Earth.
But put all of the studies and common sense aside (easy for the Occupy Wall Streeters, to be sure) -- and simply consider two of Obama's hated "one percent".

Now, of course, Brin and Page are among the vile "rich" -- to be demonized as somehow oppressing the poor.

You see, drones, what's important is not wealth disparity, it's income mobility. That is, the ability to move between economic classes is what makes America unique.
Of the top ten wealthiest members of the Forbes 400, six are self-made billionaires.
But apparently this is too difficult for the economic illiterates behind Occupy Wall Street. They want the rich to become poorer, so they'll invest less, spend less and hire fewer people.
In fact, I'd call the OWS crowd dumber than a bag of hammers, but that unfairly impugns the usefulness of hammers.

Mark Levin: What kind of political party is it that employs a strategy built upon such truly sick lies?

I ran for President for the same reason many people came to this country in the first place: Because I believe America should be a place where you can always make it if you try; a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed... I still believe in that America. . . . That's why I put forward the American Jobs Act. . . . But apparently, none of this matters to Republicans in the Senate.
In other words, Republicans don't want minorities or children to succeed!Vice President Joe Biden:
In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city. In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes–just to pick two categories–climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don’t rectify it.
In other words, Republicans want more murders and rapes!Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi:
Under this bill, when the Republicans vote for this bill today, they will be voting to say that women can die on the floor, and health care providers do not have to intervene if this bill is passed. It’s just appalling. I can’t even describe to you the logic of what it is that they are doing.
Mark Levin observes:As a matter of fact, law -- let along medical ethics -- does not permit a woman to "die on the floor" under any of these circumstances.
Did you know that? Nancy Pelosi knows that.
You've heard the President talking to a Latino group, saying -- basically -- Republicans don't want minorities to experience the American dream.
You've heard the Vice President say that Republicans prefer more rapes and murders. Now you have Nancy Pelosi saying about Republicans, who are merely trying to enforce what Obama had agreed to (Ed: see "President Obama agrees to sign anti-choice executive order") and what had been policy in this country for three decades or so.
That by raising this and trying to enforce this, that is, no federal dollars for abortions, that Republicans want women to die on the floor and health care providers not have to intervene.
What kind of political party is it that has to build a strategy built upon such truly sick lies?
It is a political party without a soul. It is a political party that is so bereft of ideas and substance, so out of touch with the American people, that it has to resort to this.
This is why there will be a wave election. A landslide of sorts, certainly when it comes to the Congress, I believe. Because the American people are not going to fall for this crap any more.
Even in some families there are Democrats and Republicans. If you're a Democrat and you have a family member who's a Republican, do you believe they support women 'dying on the floor'? And a law preventing medical assistance from treating her?
What kind of a sick mind comes up with examples like this?
Perhaps it's one whose son -- Pelosi's boy -- benefited from his mother's connections to Countrywide, where his name was on the list to be laid off. Suddenly his name's off the list, and he's safe. Could it be that kind of mind?
Perhaps it's a mind that demands a particularly large military aircraft to fly her, her family, and friends back and forth to Washington, while you and I also pay for their booze and their food while she and her husband are worth $60 to $80 million. Could it be that kind of mind?
Or perhaps it's a mind that claims to stand up for unions, when her own winery and restaurants are non-union. That kind of mind?
Yeah, I think so.
